Colonel Alan J. Boyer
Colonel Alan J. Boyer is from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Infantry in June, 1996 from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Colonel Boyer’s operational deployments include Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004, 2007, 2008, and 2011 where he served as a Company Commander, Special Operations Liaison Officer, Joint Special Operations Task Force Commander, and Task Force J3 and to Operation Enduring Freedom in 2008 and 2009 where he served as a Joint Special Operations Task Force Commander. As Battalion Commander he deployed 2-30th Infantry
Battalion to Afghanistan from 2013-2014. As Brigade Commander of the 1/101st, Colonel Boyer served as the Regionally Aligned Force to Africa.
Colonel Boyer is a graduate of the Infantry Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, the Combined Arms and Services Staff School, and the United States Army Command and General Staff College. He is a graduate of Senior Service College having served as the U.S. Army War College Fellow at Columbia University. Colonel Boyer also holds a Masters in Public Policy from Georgetown University His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal (3 OLC), the
Defense Superior Service medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (2 OLC), Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. In addition, he has been awarded the Combat Infantryman’s badge, Expert Infantryman’s badge, Ranger tab, Senior Parachutist badge, Air Assault badge, and German Parachutist badge.
Colonel Boyer is married to the former Polly Anderson and they have a daughter Emma and son Connor.
