Biography


Captain Mike Binecz is a native of Steelton, Pennsylvania. He is married to the former Amanda Slade of sixteen years and they have two beautiful children together, son István (8yrs) and daughter Ildikó (6yrs).

Captain Binecz enlisted into the United States Army in May 1998 as a 62 Bravo, Construction Equipment Repairmen. His enlisted assignments include: Fort Hood, Texas; Camp Kyle, Korea; Fort Drum, NY and Anderson Barracks, Germany.

Captain Binecz received his Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from The University of Oklahoma. He commissioned as a Second Lieutenant through the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) in December 2010 into the United States Army Transportation Corps. Upon completion of the Transportation Officer Basic Course, Captain Binecz was assigned to the 13th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 42nd MP Brigade, 593rd Sustainment Command - Expeditionary, Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM), Washington.

While assigned to JBLM, Captain Binecz served as the Rear Detachment Commander for the 513th Transportation Company; Maintenance Platoon Leader, 542nd Support Maintenance Company; Company Executive Officer, 523rd Composite Truck Company and Battalion Support Operation (SPO) Supply and Services Officer in Charge.

Following the Combined Logistics Captain’s Career Course, Captain Binecz was assigned to the 115th Brigade Support Battalion, First Armored Brigade Combat Team, First Cavalry Division where he served as the Support Operations (SPO) Current and Future Operations Plans Officer and commanded Hotel FSC, 2-8 CAV, 1ABCT, 1st Cavalry Division from November 2016 to March 2018.

Captain Binecz’ deployments include Honduras in support of Hurricane Mitch disaster Relief in 1998; Kuwait in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom in 2003 and to Korea as part of the rotational force in 2016.

Captain Binecz’ military education includes the Transportation Basic Officer Leader Course, Unit Movement Officer Course, TC- AIMS Functional User Course, Support Operations Course (Phase I) and the Combined Logistics Captain’s Career Course.

Captain Binecz’ awards and decorations includes the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (4OLC), Army Achievement Medal (3OLC), Good Conduct Medal (3rd award), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (numeral 2), Army Service Ribbon, and the Overseas Service Ribbon (numeral 3).
