West Point requires:

  • SAT, ACT, or CLT
  • Timed exam
  • Official scores by January 31 of senior year

What’s Required

You must take one of:

  • College Board (SAT)
  • ACT, Inc. (ACT)
  • Classic Learning Initiatives (CLT)

Optional writing/science sections are not required.

How to Build a Smart Test Plan

1. Take Your First Test Early

Best time: spring of junior year.


2. Analyze Your Results

Identify weak areas. Target them.


3. Retest Strategically

Because of superscoring:

  • Retake if you can improve even one section.
  • Send all scores.

4. Submit Scores On Time

Official scores must be received by Jan 31 of senior year.
